Target audience

Maritime personnel responsible for survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats on board.

Content

Take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch, operate a survival craft engine, manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship, use locating devices, including communication and signalling apparatus and pyrotechnics, and provide first aid to survivors.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of basic survival craft and rescue boat course in accordance with the STCW Code’s table A-VI/2-1 prior to the course.
