Search and rescue basic

Target audience

Personnel designated to be members of the search and rescue team or on-scene commanders.

Content

The course is conducted in accordance with Norwegian Oil and Gas guidelines and includes theoretical and practical training in response / organisation, first aid, fire theory, extinguishing agents and equipment, fire-fighting and containment, physiology, breathing apparatus (BA) and other smoke-diving equipment incl. infrared camera, search and rescue incl. smoke-diving, gas and liquids under pressure, mental reactions, stress management and on-scene rescue work.

Prerequisites

Basic safety training. Personnel with smoke-diving duties must document valid medical examination and physical tests (fitness and strength). The fitness test and strength test can be done at the training centre if booked in advance.
